Vintage car catches fire

August 7, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Over the weekend, the Orangeville Fair Grounds hosted Wheelfest, a classic car lover’s dream fest more like as the grounds were filled with the original, classic, unique, vintage and contemporary cars, enough to quench anyone’s thirst for seeing the best of the best.

A 1975 Jensen GT, British car owned by Kimberly and Ralph Evans, local Shelburne residents, met with a fate every classic car lover can appreciate, empathize with and secretly wishes they themselves will never experience. Upon leaving the Fairgrounds, exiting down the hill, the Jensen caught fire.

Fortunately no injuries to report on this three alarm fire that the Orangeville Fire Department responded to but not in time to save the vehicle.

Mr. and Mrs. Evans remind all car owners to keep a fire extinguisher in vehicles at all times and will deeply miss the loss of a such a special vehicle. There were only 511 Jensens ever built and sadder still is to know there is one less, a tragedy to be sure.Another successful year for the March of Dimes and everyone partnered with them!
