Shelburne Town Pharmacy hosts customer appreciation dinner

October 16, 2013   ·   0 Comments

As Shelburne residents become re-acquainted and perhaps introduced to Shelburne Town Pharmacy, one sentiment shines through; for Pharmacist Sanjay Lekhi and his wife Shalini, the business at hand is the community of Shelburne at present.

Hosting a customer appreciation dinner on the evening of Thursday, October 10th, was certainly not the only thing happening at the local Pharmacy. Residents couldn’t help but notice a community gathering during a venue of fine food, good friends, entertainment, fun and fitness, making it easy to forget residents were gathered at a pharmacy at all.

From the very beginning this community bonding and caring was just what the doctor ordered, to coin a phrase and the Lekhi’s couldn’t be more pleased.

“This is just what I had hoped for, people getting together, enjoying themselves,” commented Lekhi as he witnessed his new friends and residents in the community take part first enjoying a Belly Dance performance by Joan Pope and company,  and then participating in the art with free sample instruction exposing people to a fitness class everyone can take part in. Lekhi continued, “I wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped support us since we opened in August, and I just can’t believe how wonderful people are. I am so grateful.”

Being a grateful business owner is one thing, but giving back like this is completely another type of thank you where caring for your community means giving back in so many ways that people feel like they are at a family event and not having a thank you dinner at their local Pharmacy.

Further committed to fitness within the community, Lekhi’s family pharmacy will host Joan Pope’s Belly Dancing Classes . “On Mondays, I teach at 7p.m. above Soaring Heart and am trying to set up a class for Grand Valley at the Library, Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and Thursdays at 11 a.m., and there are still openings in both of those classes. I begin classes at the Shelburne Town Pharmacy Monday, October 21st at 11 a.m. keeping seniors in motion and still have openings available. People can contact me if they go online to grandvalleytimes.ca and find Hummingbird Dance, or they can call me at 519 928-3123, ” commented Pope. After such a great time was had by all, Pope shouldn’t find it hard to fill her classes especially with the support of business owners the likes of Sanjay Lekhi.
